Accredited Chest Pain Center for Heart Emergencies

Our Emergency Department is ready for a traumatic cardiac event at a moment’s notice. Our Chest Pain Center has been accredited by The Joint Commission for achieving a high level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. North Cypress recognizes the need for immediate care and intervention in critical situations dealing with the heart. Our accredited Chest Pain Center engaged in rigorous evaluation by TJC for its ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. In receiving this accreditation, North Cypress has enhanced the quality of care for cardiac patients and has demonstrated its commitment to higher standards.

All of the Emergency Department treatment rooms are equipped with modern cardiac and invasive monitoring systems. For potential heart attack victims, the North Cypress Emergency Department is capable of receiving 12-lead EKGs from Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers while they are transporting patients to the hospital. This means our Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) and surgical teams will be alerted and on standby for your arrival. Surgical teams at North Cypress are on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients who have suffered a Heart Attack often bypass the Emergency Room and go straight to the Cath Lab, saving vital minutes.

The comprehensive Cardiac Catheterization Lab located just off our Main Campus Emergency Room includes a digital Cath Lab, comprehensive cardiology suite, operating rooms for open heart and vascular surgery, and surgical teams ready and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to bypass the ER and provide critical time-saving treatment. This first-rate care includes providing potential heart attack or stroke patients quick access to board-certified emergency room doctors who are trained to treat their condition. The state-of-the-art center also offers a modern cardiac rehabilitation program for people with heart conditions. The first phase of the program begins when a patient is in the hospital recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, or other heart-related treatment. Phase II and III of the program include an exercise plan, education, and support for lifestyle changes needed to maintain a healthy heart. All three phases of the cardiac rehabilitation program are individually designed for each patient. At North Cypress Medical Center, quality care for the treatment of heart attack and stroke begins with patients having fast access to a fully equipped and staffed facility.
